become a volunteer!

The Museum is always seeking friendly, history-loving volunteers!  When and how much you work is up to you!  Perhaps you would work a specific day and time each week or just come when it's convenient to work on a project.  Some volunteers are "on call" for special events.  The work is matched to the interest of the person.  Presently we are looking for friendly faces to work the gift shop and take admissions.  There are also opportunities to work in archives, with the collection, and clerical work.  Call us for details!

Polly Bonner

Volunteer of the year, 2018

The Museum of Ceramics honored volunteers on December 1, 2018 in the second annual, Volunteer Recognition Night. Polly Bonner, shown here with former Archivist Viola Chontos, was awarded the title of "Volunteer of the Year, 2018" and was presented with a custom designed plate from Homer Laughlin China Company.  Polly is a regular at MoC and her contributions include processing archival materials, assisting researchers, helping with children’s events and tours, and pitching in wherever she is needed. The Volunteer of the Year is chosen by the MoC staff. Polly is part of the MoC family and her efforts are greatly appreciated!

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR, 2017

Donna Gray was awarded the title of "Volunteer of the Year" in 2017 for her years of service. Donna's contributions include serving on the Museum's Collection Management Committee, hosting events, inventorying the collection, and providing tours.  Donna, and her husband Bill, are avid collectors of local pottery, especially Harker Pottery, and she oftens share her knowledge and expertise with the staff.  Her efforts are greatly appreciated!
